Moments like the Beach Volleyball World Championships can be truly life-changing for young people. Being part of an international event, whether as a spectator, student, or volunteer, can ignite passions and set future dreams in motion. It’s not just about seeing the world’s best athletes in action, or being interested in volleyball specifically, it’s about showing students what’s possible, inspiring them to chase their own goals with determination, or even sparking interest in careers they may never have considered before. The energy, diversity, and global spirit of the Championships creates an environment where young people can build confidence, grow as leaders, and discover pathways that can shape their futures. These experiences have the power to stay with them for life.

We understand that schools face several logistical and financial barriers when considering participation in events of this scale, at this time of the year. These include tight or exhausted excursion budgets, the need for adequate supervision ratios, and the high cost of transport. In many cases, these excursions require significant early planning to align with available funding and staffing. We also recognise the staffing challenges schools face, depending on parents, coaches and external resources.

We are actively working to reduce these barriers and create inclusive, enriching experiences for students, teachers, and schools alike. At the end of the day, the Beach Volleyball World Championships is a one in a lifetime event here in Adelaide, and we want to maximise the impact of this on the Adelaide community, including the volleyball legacy this leaves in our state, and we’re committed to finding a way to make this happen.
