The FIVB leadership met with representatives of the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games Organising Committee this week on the sidelines of the FIVB Beach Volleyball World Championships Adelaide 2025, taking place from 14–23 November.
FIVB President Fabio Azevedo, FIVB Sports Director Steve Tutton, FIVB Head of International Affairs and Communications Anna Manuelian and FIVB Athletes’ Commission President/three-time Olympian Louise Bawden were warmly welcomed by Brisbane 2032 President Andrew Liveris and CEO Cindy Hook. To mark the occasion, the FIVB delegation presented an official Paris 2024 beach volleyball poster.
The group then met with Brisbane 2032’s Sports team, including Chief Sports Officer Kit McConnell and Director of Sport Brendan Keane. Discussions focused on the success of the ongoing Beach World Championships in Adelaide, the recent fan and athlete engagement initiatives from both the Volleyball and Beach Volleyball World Championships, along with ideas to enhance the athlete, fan and stakeholder experience in the build-up to Brisbane 2032.
During the visit, Louise Bawden added her signature to the athletes’ wall at the Brisbane 2032 office. She and the FIVB President also shared insights with the Organising Committee on how Brisbane 2032 can best support International Federations throughout Games preparations, from both athlete and governance perspectives.
The meeting concluded with a look at broader opportunities for cooperation across Oceania, reinforcing a shared ambition to elevate beach volleyball and deepen engagement across the region in the lead-up to the Brisbane 2032 Games.
